Child Protection

Child Protection (Protection of Vulnerable Groups)

ESOC currently adheres to the SOA child protection policy which is available on the SOA website.  This policy is currently being updated to take account of the new Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme and information about this is on the SOA website in various articles under the headings Child Protection Update or Understanding the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme.

The law states that anyone who works or volunteers in a child care position must have undergone certain checks. This means that all organisations, including sports clubs, are legally bound to ensure all coaches and other volunteers who work with or coach their juniors must have checks carried out under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme (previously this was done through Enhanced Disclosures).

If you need more information about ESOC’s child protection issues or the Protection of Vulnerable Groups) please contact Club President, Margaret Dalgleish (contact details on the Membership List or email the President via Contacts on this website)
