STRING COURSE
We had a well-used string course on Sunday. 14 adults and 36 children finished the course. 9 of the children did a second lap and four of these a third! This makes 63 circuits of the route, so we were not left idle.
One adult and one child abandoned the course due to rough undergrowth and low branches. As string courses go, it was quite an adventure!

Organiser’s Comments
Many thanks to the Forestry Commission for permission to use Tentsmuir, one of Scotland’s great forests, and to Mr David Finlay of Shanwell Farm for access and use of his field. His co-operation and willingness to accommodate our requests was very much appreciated.
In controlling, John Emeleus was as diligent as ever, and was invaluable in discussion on organisational aspects for the JEC, and their requirements as the event developed.
Many thanks too, to the fantastic support from everyone in ESOC, including those unable to be there. It makes the task very much easier knowing an experienced reliable team is always available, and doing everything so willingly.
Organising becomes more difficult when one competes less, subsequently becoming out of touch with what is the norm at events these days. However, feedback tells me a very satisfactory level was achieved.
